180.43 Beta Driver Testing and Comparisons

Introduction: As one could probably guess by looking at the driver numbering/naming there is little difference, along with the actual driver it’s self. The major updates include Direct X v.9 fixes for Far Cry 2 and a few other titles when used with DX9 only applied - along with that there are a few changes with IQ. Do notice a slight lack of support for some cards.

Testing methods

Benchmarks used:

  • F.E.A.R (built in performance tester).
  • 3D Mark 06 and Vantage.
  • Crysis War Head (benchmark application from here, using the ambush map).
  • S.T.A.L.K.E.R Clear Sky For IQ testing, along with F.E.A.R MP and now Test Drive Unlimited.
  • World In Conflict Standard test ran at "High Quality".
  • Test Drive Unlimited
  • Far Cry 2 - built in benchmarking tool.
